new custom home in Berkley Michigan
Mortenson Blvd.
When adding on to an existing home, it is just as important to consider the surrounding neighborhood as is the project site. The expansion of this 1950’s ranch sits alongside one and 1-1/2 story homes dating back to the 1940’s. With goals of expanding the size and adding a second story, it was necessary to be considerate of the neighboring homes' dimensions in order for the additions to fit in with the look and feel of the neighborhood. Low eave lines, and strategically using the roof volume for the second story help make this home fit right in and welcomed by its neighbors.
